This is a quick response to people who believe I am confusing freedom of speech rights because Google has censored my Obama video “Building a Religion.”

This is not a first amendment issue. Google has the right to implement any rules they want and I have a right to distribute the video elsewhere as I please. But that does not change the fact that this video is being “censored” on YouTube with the age restriction. What Google/Youtube has done, un-deliberately by way of their rules, is wrong and hopefully they figure out a way to stop politically motivated partisans from influencing their results in the future.

When the video was un-censored the first time, YouTube should have “locked it” or “permanently approved” it so it could not be flagged again. That would be a simple means of thwarting the simpletons who think the world is a better off without a message they dislike.

Two weeks ago Google lifted the age restrictions on my video “Obama: Building a Religion” — but lo and behold, it is censored again.  Outrageous.  Enough “Obamabots” re-organized to flag the video as innappropriate, and now we’re back to square one.

When the video is un-censored, it generates between 500 and 1000 views per day. Behind the age firewall, it generates less than 50.

If you would not mind taking a minute to contact Google/YouTube once again, perhaps they will listen and un-censor it once and for all…thank you everyone for your support.

Thank you to everyone who contacted Google/YouTube to complain of the censorship.  It seems like they listened to you…  The video is now free for the public to view again — as it should be! I guess Google really does listen.

Update: Video views are back up to 500 to 1000 per day since the censorship lift.

Upon reaching 95,000 views, the video, Obama - Building a Religion, has officially been censored as inappropriate for minors.  Amazing…As Glenn Reynolds always says “THEY TOLD ME THAT IF GEORGE W. BUSH WERE RE-ELECTED,” we’d see political videos censored. And they were right!

What actually happened is Obama’s hardcore internet losers (Obamabots) organized a drive to flag the video as inappropriate. This doesn’t seem to be the first time this has happened either (also, see here). Now people have to login to a YouTube account and verify their age just to watch it — a major inconvenience that has crippled the video’s traffic. Before this video was censored it was generating between 500 and 1000 views a day. Since the censoring, it is generating less than 50 per day.

Hey Obamabots — MISSION ACCOMPLISHED you mindless douchebags! How about three cheers for the free exchange of ideas (an exchange free from ideas you don’t like)!

I’ve already contacted Google/YouTube myself, but have not received any response. For those properly appalled at this censorship, please try and contact Google/YouTube to complain about this injustice (not that I expect they will respond — but you never know - if enough people complain, perhaps they’ll be spurred to action).
